As an Operations Technician, you will be instrumental in installing, configuring, testing, troubleshooting, and maintaining essential hardware like servers and their components, alongside server software such as Google's Linux cluster.

This role also involves the configuration of advanced networking equipment, including routers, hubs, bridges, and switches, and requires participation in or leadership of small project teams for larger installations, including the development of project contingency plans. Your day-to-day activities will include the physical movement and installation of racks, embracing the challenges of a physically demanding role within a dynamic, technologically advanced environment.

Contribute to and lead projects focused on the deployment, maintenance, and support of both existing and new data center infrastructure.

Take charge of complex troubleshooting efforts and the resolution of critical or escalated technical issues.

Assist in the testing and troubleshooting of novel server hardware components and designs.

Manage the configuration and resolution of Linux OS-related issues on servers.

Be prepared for on-call support shifts as required.

Demonstrated experience in performing component-level repairs and troubleshooting on technical equipment.

Proficiency in diagnosing and troubleshooting at least one of the following areas: operating systems, computer/server hardware, or networking protocols.

Capability to lift and move equipment weighing up to 50 lbs (23kg), with the ability to exert physical effort over extended periods, including frequent bending, kneeling, climbing, pushing/pulling, and lifting.

Flexibility to work non-standard hours, including weekends, night shifts, holidays, and on shift-based schedules as needed.
