Amazon Data Services India Private Limited (ADSIPL) is expanding its AWS Cloud offerings and seeks a skilled Data Centre Linux & HW Engineer. As a Data Centre Operation Technician, you will be a key contact for internal and external stakeholders, including engineers, developers, vendors, and service providers. Your primary role involves the maintenance and upkeep of data center infrastructure, including server rack installation, hardware break-fix, and network troubleshooting.
You will respond to emergent situations affecting operational stability and work within a ticket-based environment to meet SLAs. This includes being the first line of support for hardware troubleshooting and technical issues. The role requires participation in on-call duties, scheduled maintenance, and change management activities.
Contribute to documentation through root cause analysis for operational issues and participate in process improvement initiatives. More experienced technicians may mentor junior team members. This position has a physical component, requiring the ability to lift and rack equipment up to 20kg, and may involve working in confined or elevated spaces while adhering to safety guidelines. The role involves a 24x7 shift rotation.
We are seeking individuals with a minimum of 2 years of experience in computer hardware troubleshooting and repair, alongside at least 1 year of experience in computer networking. A high school or equivalent diploma is required.
Preferred qualifications include experience handling customer interactions effectively during problem resolution and operating efficiently under pressure. Knowledge of fiber optic and copper cabling standards, testing equipment, and troubleshooting methodologies is also beneficial. Experience working in a colocation data center facility and general networking experience are advantageous.
This role requires a strong aptitude for troubleshooting and problem-solving. You will be involved in site management and maintaining tidiness in operation areas. Physical capability to lift and rack equipment up to 20kg, and comfort working in various physical environments, are essential. Participation in 24x7 shift rotations is a requirement.
