Design, deploy, and maintain scalable Linux server infrastructures, focusing on high reliability. Conduct thorough system monitoring, diagnostics, and performance tuning. Configure and manage network devices, including switches, routers, and intricate cabling systems. Develop and implement robust backup and disaster recovery solutions. Collaborate with various teams to ensure smooth technological integrations.
As a Data Centre Operations Engineer, you will be the primary contact for internal customers, addressing diverse daily challenges. This includes troubleshooting advanced hardware issues for servers, storage, and networking 24/7, maintaining high system uptime, and participating in projects to boost operational efficiency. You'll have opportunities to share expertise and knowledge globally, assist in training less technical staff on best practices, and contribute to team building through Amazon's hiring process.
A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is required. Practical experience in troubleshooting and repairing computer hardware is essential.
Preferred qualifications include demonstrated ability to effectively manage customer interactions during problem resolution and perform efficiently under pressure. Experience utilizing ticketing systems for work management and priority handling is beneficial. Familiarity with cabling infrastructure best practices and methodologies, along with hands-on experience in a data center environment (e.g., racking and stacking equipment, cable management, hot/cold aisle containment), is highly valued.
