As a Data Centre Operation Technician, you will be integral to the maintenance and upkeep of our critical data center infrastructure. Your responsibilities will include:
- Performing server rack installations and hardware break-fix on various components. - Troubleshooting network issues and responding to emergent situations that impact operational stability. - Acting as the primary point of contact for internal teams and external service partners. - Meeting SLAs by addressing trouble tickets through a directed workflow and providing first-line hardware troubleshooting. - Participating in scheduled maintenance, change management activities, and 24x7 shift rotations, including on-call duties. - Contributing to root cause analysis documentation and process improvement initiatives. - Assisting in training less experienced team members (for more experienced technicians).
This role also involves physical tasks such as lifting and racking equipment, and potentially working in confined or elevated spaces, always adhering to health and safety guidelines.
We are seeking skilled Data Centre Operation Technicians with a foundational understanding of computer hardware troubleshooting and repair, coupled with networking experience. A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
Preferred qualifications include experience in customer-facing problem resolution, familiarity with fiber optic and copper cabling standards, experience in colocation data centers, and additional hands-on experience in hardware repair, infrastructure cabling, network deployment, or data center operations.
This position requires physical capability for lifting and racking equipment, comfort working in various spatial conditions, and adherence to all safety protocols. The role operates on a 24x7 shift rotation basis.
