As a Data Centre Operation Technician, you will be integral to the maintenance and upkeep of critical data center infrastructure. Your duties will encompass server rack installation, hardware repair, network troubleshooting, and responding effectively to operational stability incidents. You will serve as a key contact for both internal teams and external partners, managing trouble tickets and providing first-line hardware support.

This role requires participation in on-call duties, scheduled maintenance, and change management activities. You will contribute to metric analysis in team meetings, ensuring daily and weekly goals are met. A strong understanding of departmental policies, safety, and security procedures is essential. You'll also play a part in documenting technical issues, conducting root cause analysis, and contributing to process improvement initiatives. More experienced technicians may also mentor newer team members.

To excel in this role, a minimum of two years' experience in computer hardware troubleshooting and repair is required, alongside at least one year of experience in computer networking. A high school diploma or equivalent is necessary. Preferred qualifications include experience in customer-facing problem resolution, efficient operation under pressure, and familiarity with fiber optic and copper cabling standards and testing.

Experience working within a colocation data center environment is highly beneficial. We are looking for individuals with strong troubleshooting and problem-solving aptitude, who can systematically resolve issues in a ticket-based system. The role involves performing routine hardware operations, break/fix tasks, and rack decommissioning. You will also participate in 24x7 shift rotations and maintain operational areas.
