As a Data Centre Operation Technician, your core responsibilities include maintaining and upkeeping critical data center infrastructure. This involves server rack installations, hardware break-fix tasks, troubleshooting network issues, and responding to emergent situations to ensure operational stability. You will act as a primary contact for internal teams and external service partners, manage trouble tickets within a directed workflow, and serve as the first point of contact for hardware troubleshooting.

You will also participate in on-call duties, scheduled maintenance, and change management activities, actively monitoring the data center infrastructure. Contributing to metric analysis and daily/weekly goal achievement through team meetings is essential. Adherence to departmental policies, procedures, safety, and security guidelines is paramount. Furthermore, you will document technical issues through root cause analysis and contribute to process improvement initiatives.

This position requires a strong foundation in computer hardware troubleshooting and repair, with at least two years of experience. A minimum of one year of experience in computer networking is also necessary. While a high school diploma or equivalent is required, we value diverse experiences and encourage applications even if not all preferred qualifications are met.

The role has a physical component, including the ability to lift and rack equipment, work in confined spaces, and at elevated locations, all while adhering to strict health and safety guidelines. This position involves participation in 24x7 shift rotations. Preferred qualifications include experience with customer interactions during problem resolution, knowledge of fiber optic and copper cabling standards, and experience in colocation data center facilities.
