Our operations team is at the forefront of designing, installing, and maintaining the world's largest computing infrastructure. This role involves system maintenance, repair, issue resolution, parts management, and contributing to overall data center upkeep. You'll play a crucial role in shaping the future of technology in the region from our large-scale, high-density data centers.
As a Data Center Operations Engineer, you will serve as the main point of contact for internal customers, with each day bringing unique challenges. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Troubleshooting advanced hardware issues on servers, storage, and networking devices 24/7. - Ensuring and maintaining a high level of system reliability and availability. - Participating in projects focused on enhancing operational efficiencies and sharing expertise with a global network of technical professionals. - Mentoring and training less technical staff on best practices for service owner issues. - Contributing to team growth by participating in the Amazon hiring process, including candidate interviews.
A typical day as a Data Center Operations Engineer involves:
- Performing installations and configurations on data center servers and network systems. - Troubleshooting and replacing internal and external hardware components for servers and network devices. - Working within a structured ticket-based system to systematically resolve problems. - Adhering to a rotational shift schedule to ensure consistent system reliability. - Collaborating with internal teams, sharing innovative ideas to improve the data center work environment and operational efficiencies. - This is an active role requiring constant movement on-site.
