Join Google's Hardware Operations team to manage the state-of-the-art physical infrastructure that powers our search technology. As a Hardware Operations Manager, you will lead a team of Data Center Technicians, ensuring the quality installation of server hardware and components, and overseeing complex installations and troubleshooting.

Your team will be responsible for the full lifecycle of server and network hardware, including installation, configuration, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance. This includes managing intricate components like networks, routers, and switches, and developing contingency plans for larger installations.

In this pivotal role, you will drive operational excellence, foster a performance-driven culture through coaching and development, and ensure facility activities align with long-term infrastructure goals. You will also maintain security standards, leverage data for process improvements, and champion workplace safety through EHS initiatives, ensuring the data center operates securely and efficiently.

Lead and develop a team of Data Center Technicians, setting clear priorities and fostering a performance culture through consistent coaching.

Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders to resolve complex computing and network architecture issues, and implement short- and long-term facility strategies.

Maintain and execute robust security and operational procedures, analyzing data trends to identify and implement process improvements aligned with organizational policies.

Support the implementation of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) and compliance programs, ensuring thorough investigation and resolution of safety incidents.

A Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience is required, along with a minimum of 10 years of experience in computing infrastructure, network architecture, operating systems (Linux), or hardware.

Demonstrated experience of 10 years in managing technical teams responsible for installing, configuring, testing, troubleshooting, or maintaining server hardware and its components is essential.

Significant experience in site-level data center operational leadership, including building and managing leadership teams, and developing managers, is also a key requirement.

Flexibility to work non-standard hours, including weekends, night shifts, holidays, and on shift-based schedules, is necessary for this role.
