As a Data Centre Operations Engineer, you will be the primary point of contact for internal customers, tackling a variety of daily challenges.
Key responsibilities include: - Troubleshooting advanced hardware issues on servers, storage, and networking devices 24/7. - Maintaining exceptional system reliability and availability. - Contributing to projects that enhance operational efficiencies and sharing expertise globally. - Mentoring less technical staff on service owner best practices. - Participating in the Amazon hiring process by conducting candidate interviews.
Your day-to-day activities will involve: - Installing and configuring data center servers and network systems. - Diagnosing, troubleshooting, and replacing internal and external hardware components for servers and network devices. - Managing tasks within a ticket-based system for systematic problem resolution. - Working on a rotational shift schedule to ensure continuous system reliability. - Collaborating with internal teams on innovative projects to improve the data center work environment and operational efficiency.
This is a physically active role requiring constant movement onsite. Basic qualifications include 2+ years of computer networking experience and a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. Preferred qualifications involve working in confined or elevated spaces, effective customer interaction under pressure, ticketing system experience, and familiarity with data center environments and cabling best practices.
