As a Data Centre Operations Technician, you will be the primary point of contact for internal customers, tackling diverse daily challenges. Key responsibilities include:
- Troubleshooting advanced hardware issues on servers, storage, and networking devices around the clock. - Ensuring high levels of system reliability and availability. - Participating in projects to improve operational efficiency and sharing knowledge with a global network of technical experts. - Training less technical staff on best practices for service owner issues. - Contributing to team growth by participating in the Amazon hiring process and candidate interviews.
Daily work involves the installation and configuration of data center servers and network systems. You will be responsible for the installation, troubleshooting, and replacement of internal and external hardware components for servers and network devices.
Effectively manage tasks within a ticket-based system to achieve systematic problem resolution. This role operates on a rotational shift schedule to uphold high system reliability and requires collaboration with internal teams to share ideas and contribute to innovative projects aimed at enhancing the data center work environment and overall efficiencies.
This is a physically demanding role requiring constant movement within the data center onsite. A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, along with at least one year of computer networking experience, is required. Experience working in cramped spaces or elevated locations, managing priorities through a ticketing system, and a background in data center environments are preferred.
