As a Data Centre Operation Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining and upkeeping data center infrastructure. Your duties will include server rack installation, hardware repair and troubleshooting, resolving network issues, and responding to operational stability incidents. You will act as a key contact for internal teams and external service partners, working to meet SLAs for trouble tickets and providing first-line hardware support.

You will participate in on-call duties and scheduled maintenance, contributing to change management activities. Team meetings will involve metric analysis and goal discussion. Adherence to safety and security policies is essential, as is contributing to documentation through root cause analysis and process improvement initiatives. More experienced technicians may mentor junior team members.

This role requires a foundational understanding of computer hardware and networking. You should possess at least two years of experience in computer hardware troubleshooting and repair, coupled with at least one year of computer networking experience. A high school diploma or equivalent is a prerequisite for this position.

Preferred qualifications include the ability to effectively manage customer interactions during problem resolution and perform under pressure. Familiarity with fiber optic and copper cabling standards, testing equipment, and troubleshooting methodologies is beneficial. Experience in a colocation data center facility and at least one year of experience in computer hardware repair, infrastructure cabling, network deployment, or data center operations are highly valued.
