As a Data Centre Operations Technician, you will be the key point of contact for internal stakeholders, ensuring the smooth operation of our data centers.
Key responsibilities include: - Troubleshooting advanced hardware issues across servers, storage, and networking devices on a 24/7 basis. - Maintaining exceptional system reliability and availability. - Participating in projects aimed at improving operational efficiency, sharing expertise with a global network of technical professionals. - Training less technical staff on best practices for service owner issues. - Contributing to team growth by assisting in the Amazon hiring process and conducting candidate interviews.
A typical day involves hands-on work with our data center infrastructure.
Your daily activities will encompass: - Installation and configuration of data center servers and network systems. - Performing installations, troubleshooting, and replacements of internal and external hardware components for servers and network devices. - Managing tasks within a ticket-based system for systematic problem resolution. - Working on a rotational shift schedule to ensure consistent system reliability. - Collaborating with internal teams, sharing ideas, and contributing to innovative projects that enhance the data center work environment and overall efficiency. - This is a physically demanding role requiring constant on-site movement.
