As a Data Centre Operations Technician, you will be the primary point of contact for internal customers, tackling diverse daily challenges. Key responsibilities include:
- Troubleshooting complex technical issues on advanced hardware, including servers, storage, and networking devices, on a 24/7 basis. - Maintaining exceptional system reliability and availability. - Participating in projects to improve operational efficiencies and sharing expertise with a global network of technical experts. - Mentoring less technical staff on best practices related to service owner issues. - Contributing to team building through involvement in Amazon's hiring and candidate interview processes.
To be successful in this role, you should possess:
- A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a closely related field. - Proven experience in computer hardware troubleshooting and repair. - A minimum of two years of experience in data center operations, critical environments, computer hardware repair, infrastructure cabling, network deployment, or related fields.
Preferred qualifications include demonstrated customer service skills during problem resolution, efficient operation under pressure, experience managing tasks and priorities with a ticketing system, and hands-on experience within a data center environment, including racking and stacking equipment and managing cable pathways.
