Join AWS Infrastructure Services as a Data Center Logistics Specialist, playing a crucial role in the operations that power the global cloud. You'll be part of a team dedicated to designing, planning, delivering, and operating AWS data centers, ensuring the availability of servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment.
This is an opportunity to tackle complex supply chain challenges within a diverse and inclusive environment. Collaborate with engineers, supply chain specialists, and operations managers to maintain the highest standards of safety and security while optimizing costs. Experience a culture that encourages bold ideas and empowers you to see them through to completion.
As a Logistics Operations Specialist, you will manage the daily flow of materials, equipment, and inventory, resolving on-the-ground issues to meet operational needs. Key responsibilities include analyzing processes for improvements, maintaining precise records of all incoming and outgoing commodities, and managing accurate inventory levels. You will coordinate and support shipments across various sites, unpack and verify contents, and ensure a clean and safe work environment. Proactively propose innovative solutions to enhance logistics metrics and performance.
This role involves physical tasks such as frequent lifting (with team support), occasional travel to other sites within the cluster, and the ability to push/pull heavy objects. You'll also maintain metrics dashboards and create reports, support inventory accuracy through reconciliation, and prepare materials for shipment. Daily scheduling of deliveries and pickups is also part of the role.
Additional duties include data entry, resolving queries from peer organizations, and managing metrics dashboards and reports. You must be capable of performing physically demanding tasks including pushing, pulling, squatting, bending, reaching, walking, and standing for extended periods, as well as utilizing hands for handling objects. Work may occur in noisy environments, and exposure to varying weather conditions is possible. On-call duties outside normal hours are required on a rotational basis.
We are seeking a logistics professional with experience supporting inventory cycle counts, managing shipments, performing maintenance tasks, stock control functions, and reverse logistics. Proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel) is essential.
While not strictly required, candidates with 2+ years of experience in shipping & receiving, inventory management, and warehousing practices will be strongly considered. Amazon values diverse experiences, and we encourage applications even if you don't meet every preferred qualification. If your career path is unconventional or includes alternative experiences, we encourage you to apply.
