As a Data Center Engineering Operations Engineer, your primary focus will be ensuring the optimal performance of all electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment within the data center, adhering strictly to contractual parameters. Key duties involve managing risks and implementing mitigation strategies, performing corrective and preventative maintenance on critical infrastructure, overseeing vendor relationships, and generating performance reports.

Responsibilities include on-site supervision of contractors and vendors to ensure compliance with established practices, procedures, and local legislation. You will also establish performance benchmarks, conduct analyses, and report on all facets of data center facility operations and maintenance. Close collaboration with DCO managers and other business leaders will be essential for coordinating projects, managing capacity, and enhancing plant safety, performance, reliability, sustainability, and efficiency. Additionally, you will support rack installations and the provision of necessary power and cooling infrastructure.

In this role, you will assist in troubleshooting facility and rack-level incidents within defined Service Level Agreements (SLAs). You will perform essential tasks such as rack installations, decommissioning, and general facility management. Providing operational readings and key performance indicators will be crucial for maintaining system uptime. You will be responsible for the on-site management of contractors, sub-contractors, and vendors, ensuring all activities align with established practices, procedures, and local legislation. The role also entails performing and overseeing maintenance and operations on electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment within the data center.

Your work schedule will adapt to specific site demands, potentially involving 12-hour shifts and rotating schedules. Some locations may require participation in on-call rotations. Basic qualifications include a minimum of two years of relevant work experience, the ability to perform physically demanding tasks such as bending, twisting, working with small objects, navigating uneven terrain, and working at heights or from ladders. Preferred qualifications include four or more years of data center engineering experience, a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, knowledge of network design and low voltage cabling, and the capacity for sustained physical work throughout the day.
