Lead the development of comprehensive technical architectures for monitoring solutions. This role involves translating project requirements into detailed designs encompassing SSAS DMVs, Extended Events, SQL Server telemetry, time-series analysis, reporting, security, and operational support.

Provide expert technical guidance across Data Architecture, SQL Engineering, SSAS Monitoring, Power BI, and QA. You will be instrumental in establishing engineering standards, conducting technical reviews, managing cross-functional dependencies, and ensuring the seamless implementation of monitoring metrics, baselines, thresholds, and security protocols.

Your responsibilities will extend to supporting technical discovery, testing phases, deployment, production validation, documentation, knowledge transfer, and smooth operational handover.

Define the complete end-to-end solution architecture for monitoring data lifecycle: collection, processing, storage, and visualization.

Design intricate integrations across SSAS DMVs, Extended Events, ALETL logs, SQL Server, Git, DACPAC, and Power BI.

Establish the architectural framework for various data layers including raw, staging, curated, and serving layers.

Ensure the solution robustly supports time-series data, historical trending, baseline comparisons, and threshold evaluations.

Define critical non-functional requirements such as performance, scalability, security, availability, and recovery mechanisms.

Develop technical patterns for scheduling, error handling, safe reruns, and failure recovery.

Translate Statement of Work (SOW) requirements into actionable technical work packages and define clear acceptance criteria.

Lead technical discovery and validate the quality and suitability of SSAS, ALETL, SQL Server, and Power BI data sources.

Establish comprehensive standards for architecture, design, development, coding, testing, deployment, and technical reviews.

Review and approve data models, T-SQL scripts, SSAS collectors, Extended Events configurations, DAX measures, security designs, and deployment artifacts.

Ensure consistent application of metric definitions, baseline classes, thresholds, RAG calculations, and historical trend analysis.

Proactively resolve technical issues and dependencies across Data/SQL, SSAS, Power BI, and QA workstreams.

Provide expert technical direction throughout developer testing, SIT, UAT, defect resolution, deployment, and production validation phases.

Implement least-privilege access principles across all relevant components including SQL Server, SSAS, service accounts, Power BI, and Git.

Ensure strict adherence to approved SOW scope and technical exclusions throughout the project lifecycle.

Review as-built documentation, operational runbooks, troubleshooting guides, and knowledge-transfer materials for completeness and accuracy.

Proven experience in SQL Server and SSAS solution architecture.

Deep understanding of SSAS Multidimensional concepts, DMVs, Extended Events, XMLA, cubes, dimensions, and measure groups.

Expertise in monitoring, observability, telemetry, and time-series architecture.

Strong foundation in SQL Server data architecture and dimensional modeling.

Experience in designing for processing-event correlation, historical baselines, thresholds, and RAG status.

Proficiency in integration patterns involving SQL Server, SQL Agent, SSAS, ALETL logs, and Power BI.

Knowledge of security best practices, RBAC, service accounts, least-privilege access, and auditability.

Understanding of performance, scalability, retention, restartability, recovery, and supportability design principles.

Advanced skills in T-SQL, stored procedures, indexing, and query optimization.

Familiarity with Power BI semantic models, DAX, RLS, gateway management, and workspace governance.

Experience with SSDT, Git, DACPAC, database deployment, rollback strategies, and release governance.

Demonstrated ability in technical design reviews, quality gates, testing assurance, and production readiness assessment.

Excellent problem-solving abilities, strong technical documentation skills, and effective workshop facilitation and stakeholder communication are essential.
