Within the Chrome Web Store and Extensions Security team, your mission will be to shield users from harmful extensions while fostering secure and beneficial developer experiences.

As a Security and Applied AI Engineering Analyst, you will apply large-scale data analysis to detect and prevent user abuse in Chrome. You'll uncover and interpret attack vectors, and utilize AI to develop scalable protections. Close collaboration with Engineering and Product teams is essential for identifying threats, mitigating risks, and deploying new protection mechanisms.

We partner across Google, working as a united front of Analysts, Policy Specialists, Engineers, and Program Managers to reduce risk and fight abuse across all products, ensuring the security of users, advertisers, and publishers worldwide in over 40 languages.

- Conduct in-depth investigations using reverse engineering techniques. - Enforce product policies and identify emerging abuse patterns. - Generate ground truth data to train and improve automated systems. - Identify vulnerabilities and performance bottlenecks in review pipelines, both automated and manual. - Design and implement AI-powered solutions for the scalable detection of malware and other harmful techniques. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and deploy new detection methods and signals. - Maintain a deep understanding of the evolving abuse landscape and associated techniques.

Minimum Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience. - 5 years of experience in data analysis, including trend identification, summary statistics generation, and deriving insights from quantitative and qualitative data. - 5 years of experience in project management, encompassing scope definition, goal setting, and deliverable management.

Preferred Qualifications: - Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related quantitative field (e.g., Statistics, Mathematics, Operations Research). - Demonstrated experience or strong foundational knowledge in cybersecurity principles and practices. - Familiarity with development lifecycles and security considerations for browser extensions or similar technologies. - Working knowledge in at least one of the following: cyber security, threat intelligence, statistical analysis, machine learning libraries (e.g., R), programming languages (e.g., Python), Large Language Models (LLMs), or applied AI. - Exceptional problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with meticulous attention to detail in a dynamic environment.
