In this Practice Customer Engineering (CE) Manager role, you will lead and develop a team of subject matter experts. Lead Practice Customer Engineers, focusing on team culture, talent development, and skill enhancement to build robust AI-ready data foundations that maximize proprietary data value. Foster strategic partnerships and provide thought leadership on data platform strategies, governance, and agentic AI architectures.
Collaborate closely with the Sales team on technical go-to-market plans for Data and AI workloads, and on developing repeatable solution patterns. Balance strong technical leadership with efficient operational execution. Lead review meetings to champion technical successes and drive effective migration strategies with both existing customers and prospects.
Oversee the development and execution of prototyping and proofs-of-concept initiatives. Engage in cross-functional collaboration across Google and with partners to address technical roadblocks and provide valuable field feedback to Product and Engineering teams.
Drive compelling technical positioning for leading data platforms, lakehouses, and open table formats, while actively enabling the activation of unstructured and multimodal data.
A Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience is required. Candidates should possess at least 10 years of experience in cloud-native architecture, preferably within a customer-facing or support capacity. Demonstrated leadership experience, including people management, team leadership, mentorship, or coaching, is essential.
Proven experience engaging in technical conversations, delivering demonstrations, developing prototypes, or conducting workshops with customers is necessary. A strong background in data and AI/ML technologies is a key requirement for this role.
Preferred qualifications include experience influencing cross-functional teams, customers, and partners to achieve business objectives and enhance customer experience. Experience in a pre-sales management or technical customer-facing people management role within professional services or a sales engineering team is highly valued.
Further desirable experience encompasses data governance, metadata management, and semantic layers as a foundation for grounding AI agents in enterprise data. Experience driving the adoption of specialized workloads, such as Cloud AI and Data Analytics, with technical decision-makers is also preferred. The ability to tailor impactful messages to different audiences, ask strategic questions, and lead conversations that accelerate value realization and business opportunity is advantageous. Specialization in technical sales and strategizing around holistic customer and industry solutions is a plus.
