As a Custom Software Engineer, you will be instrumental in designing, coding, and enhancing components across various systems and applications. This role leverages modern frameworks and agile practices to deliver scalable, high-performing solutions precisely tailored to meet specific business needs. You will focus on building AI-native SAP applications and extensions, optimizing them for HANA and integrating agentic AI patterns.

Key responsibilities include engineering ABAP on HANA solutions with a focus on performance, developing modern, clean ABAP code, and modeling data for enterprise business entities. You will also build AI-enabled SAP experiences by integrating ABAP services with LLM capabilities, including tool calling and retrieval-grounded outputs. Quality engineering, observability, integration, and end-to-end delivery are also critical aspects of this role.

A strong foundation in SAP ABAP Development on HANA, including performance tuning and efficient SQL access patterns, is essential. Proficiency with CDS views, AMDP/SQLScript, and a solid software engineering discipline encompassing clean design, testing, CI/CD, and production readiness are required. Experience with AI native capabilities like LLM integration, retrieval grounding, tool orchestration, evaluation loops, and safety boundaries is crucial. A minimum of 3 years of experience and 15 years of full-time education are necessary.
