We are seeking a skilled Custom Software Engineer with expertise in Rust and AWS Cloud to design, develop, and enhance scalable backend applications and data-intensive services. This role involves working with modern frameworks and agile practices to deliver high-performing solutions tailored to specific business needs, particularly within OTT and digital media platforms.

Your day-to-day activities will encompass Rust application development, database engineering, AWS cloud integration, API creation, performance optimization, and production support. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the delivery of secure, reliable, and efficient solutions, adhering to Agile and DevOps principles.

As a Custom Software Engineer, you will be instrumental in:

- Designing, developing, and enhancing robust backend services using Rust. - Building and consuming REST and gRPC APIs for critical functions like entitlement and device registration. - Developing asynchronous services with sophisticated concurrency and error handling. - Creating and maintaining data access layers and optimizing database schemas. - Integrating various AWS services, including RDS, DynamoDB, S3, and Lambda. - Designing efficient data models and caching strategies. - Developing comprehensive test suites and participating in code reviews and CI/CD processes. - Analyzing and resolving production incidents, troubleshooting performance bottlenecks, and supporting deployment activities.

To be successful in this role, you should possess:

- Minimum of 2-5 years of relevant experience, with a strong foundation in Rust development and distributed systems engineering. - Mandatory primary skills in Rust Development and AWS Cloud. - Proficiency in Rust programming, including ownership, borrowing, lifetimes, traits, and error handling. - Experience with asynchronous Rust using Tokio and task management. - Hands-on experience with Rust web frameworks like Axum or Actix Web, and serialization libraries like Serde. - Strong SQL and database design expertise with relational (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., DynamoDB, Redis). - Experience with AWS services such as RDS, Aurora, DynamoDB, ElastiCache, S3, Lambda, SQS, SNS, and IAM. - Familiarity with build tools like Cargo, version control with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and containerization with Docker. - Proven ability to analyze logs, metrics, and troubleshoot production issues, including leading incident resolution. - Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. - Experience in Agile, DevOps, Cloud-Native Development, and Production Support environments is highly preferred.
