As a Custom Software Engineer, you will be instrumental in developing sophisticated software solutions. Your role involves designing, coding, and enhancing components across various systems and applications.
Utilizing modern frameworks and agile methodologies, you will deliver scalable, high-performing solutions precisely tailored to meet diverse business requirements. This position offers the opportunity to contribute significantly to cutting-edge projects within the automotive sector.
Key responsibilities include implementing new vehicle properties, handling signal specifications, and managing change-notification paths. You will also develop and maintain Android services and app-facing components using Java/Kotlin, extending existing tooling for feature testing.
Debugging across the entire stack using tools like logcat and dumpsys, along with writing unit and integration tests, is crucial. You will also be involved in reproducing and fixing assigned defects, providing clear root-cause analysis.
Active participation in design and code reviews, proposing SELinux policy changes, and maintaining current documentation are also expected. Collaboration and knowledge sharing are vital for team success.
A strong foundation in software engineering with a minimum of 3 years of specialized experience in Automotive Digital Cockpit Solutions is required. You should possess 5+ years of total experience, with at least 2 years in Android platform, system apps, or embedded Android, or automotive embedded C++.
Proficiency in Java and Kotlin for writing clean, tested framework-level code, and working knowledge of C++ (11/14/17) are essential. Understanding of Android architecture, Binder/AIDL, and system services is necessary.
Familiarity with AOSP image building, the repo tool, and Android build systems is expected. A working understanding of HAL concepts, SELinux policy, and basic vehicle network knowledge (CAN, DBC, SOME/IP) is also a plus.
