This position offers an excellent opportunity for an early-career engineer to grow within the VHAL and Car Framework teams. Under the guidance of experienced professionals, you will tackle well-defined implementation tasks, testing, tooling, and defect resolution, while gaining significant expertise in AOSP and automotive concepts.

Your core responsibilities will include implementing specified changes, such as adding properties or extending signal mappings, and writing comprehensive unit tests to improve code coverage.

You will also be responsible for building and maintaining development and test tooling, assisting with build and bring-up activities on target hardware, and reproducing and fixing reported defects under supervision.

Furthermore, you'll actively learn AOSP workflows and the Car Framework model, participate in code reviews, maintain documentation, and communicate any blockers promptly.

We are seeking candidates with a minimum of 2-5 years of professional software engineering experience, including meaningful exposure to Android or embedded systems.

Proficiency in Java and/or Kotlin is essential for writing clear, functional code and unit tests. A solid understanding of C++ fundamentals, including syntax, classes, and pointers, is necessary for reading and modifying existing code.

Familiarity with Android application and service fundamentals, basic Linux command-line operations, and Git fluency are expected. A strong willingness and proven ability to quickly grasp platform-level concepts are crucial for success in this role.
