Advance your career as a Custom Software Engineer specializing in SAP MM Materials Management. This role focuses on developing, configuring, and enhancing SAP MM processes with a strong emphasis on leveraging AI-assisted development tools and copilots. The objective is to accelerate requirement analysis, configuration, testing, and problem resolution to ensure streamlined procurement, inventory management, and supplier collaboration. While integrating AI capabilities to boost productivity, deep involvement in LLM development is not required.
Key responsibilities include configuring and optimizing core MM processes such as Procure-to-Pay (P2P), Purchase Requisition/Order Management, Vendor Management, and Inventory Management. You will utilize AI copilots to generate functional specifications, validate configurations, create test cases, and automate documentation. This role also involves supporting end-to-end delivery, integrating MM with other SAP modules (SD, FI, PP, QM) and external systems. AI tools will be applied to accelerate requirement interpretation, data validation, error diagnostics, test creation, and document generation. Additionally, you'll integrate pre-built AI services for enhanced MM operations and leverage LLM-assisted troubleshooting.
Ensuring compliance with procurement governance and operational controls is crucial. You will participate in workshops and process optimization discussions, collaborate with cross-functional teams (procurement, warehouse, finance, production, QM), and contribute reusable templates and AI-augmented best practices.
A strong understanding of SAP MM, including P2P processes, purchasing document flows, vendor evaluation, and inventory management, is essential. You should have experience configuring material master, vendor master, PO/PR processing, goods movements, and release strategies, along with familiarity in integrating MM with SD, FI, PP, and QM. Knowledge of IDocs, outputs, pricing procedures, and common MM troubleshooting patterns is required.
AI-ready skills are paramount, including hands-on experience with AI copilots, LLM-powered documentation tools, and AI-assisted testing accelerators. The ability to integrate pre-built AI capabilities into MM workflows for automation and insight generation is necessary. Understanding responsible AI usage and its limitations in procurement contexts is also important.
General skills include strong analytical and problem-solving abilities in procurement and material management, the capacity to translate business requirements into scalable SAP MM configurations, and clear communication and collaboration skills. A continuous learning mindset with comfort in adopting AI-enabled productivity tools is expected.
