Develop and implement cutting-edge, AI-native SAP solutions on ABAP Cloud. This role involves leveraging deep ABAP and SAP platform expertise alongside agentic AI architectures and LLM tooling. The focus is on building scalable, intelligent SAP applications that integrate seamlessly with modern AI technologies, moving beyond simple automation to foster true autonomy.

This is an opportunity to actively construct AI systems, rather than merely utilizing AI tools. You will be instrumental in designing, developing, and scaling advanced SAP applications that connect ABAP Cloud capabilities with large language models, retrieval pipelines, and enterprise-wide APIs.

Design and develop ABAP Cloud applications that embed LLM-driven intelligence within SAP business processes. Implement AI-enabled SAP extensions using modern frameworks like RAP, event-driven patterns, and cloud-native architectures. Write clean, testable ABAP code for seamless integration with AI services and enterprise APIs.

Integrate agentic workflows, including tools, planners, memory, and orchestration loops, directly into SAP processes. Connect LLMs, embeddings, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines with ABAP Cloud services to ensure contextual and grounded responses. Develop robust prompt templates, grounding strategies, fallback logic, and safety boundaries appropriate for enterprise SAP environments.

Build and integrate retrieval pipelines utilizing both SAP and non-SAP data sources, including business objects, CDS views, documents, and events. Implement effective chunking, indexing, and embedding strategies to support production-grade RAG scenarios. Ensure factuality, traceability, and explainability within all AI-driven SAP workflows.

Develop comprehensive evaluation frameworks, both offline and online, to assess AI behavior within SAP processes. Design and implement guardrails for authorization, data privacy, action boundaries, and error handling. Integrate observability features into AI-enabled SAP applications for telemetry, logging, and failure analysis.

Rapidly prototype solutions, demo frequently, and iterate based on business feedback. Transition AI prototypes into enterprise-grade SAP production systems, prioritizing performance, security, and compliance. Continuously refine AI behavior, prompts, and orchestration strategies for optimal outcomes.

A strong foundation in SAP ABAP Cloud is essential, including proficiency in RAP, CDS, OData, and clean core principles. Candidates must possess hands-on experience integrating LLMs and AI services into applications. Demonstrated experience building RAG pipelines, working with embeddings, and implementing contextual retrieval is required.

Solid software engineering fundamentals are critical, encompassing design principles, comprehensive testing methodologies, and CI/CD practices. The ability to effectively translate complex business problems into tangible AI-enabled SAP solutions is a key requirement. Minimum of 2-5 years of relevant experience is expected, with a minimum of 3 years of direct experience in custom software engineering.
