As a Custom Software Engineer, you will be instrumental in developing and enhancing software components across various systems and applications. Utilizing modern frameworks and agile methodologies, you will craft scalable, high-performance solutions precisely tailored to meet unique business demands.

This role focuses on leveraging AI-assisted development tools and copilots to streamline financial processes. You will accelerate financial analysis, configuration, documentation, test creation, and troubleshooting within SAP FI S/4HANA Accounting. The emphasis is on integration, quality delivery, and AI-enabled productivity, without the need for deep model development or advanced LLM/RAG engineering.

Configure and refine core SAP FI functionalities, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Asset Accounting, Banking, Tax, and Financial Closing. Translate complex business requirements into robust SAP configurations, leveraging AI copilots to expedite analysis and documentation.

Support the entire project lifecycle, from requirements gathering and solution design through configuration, testing, deployment, and hypercare. Ensure seamless integration of SAP FI with other SAP modules (MM, SD, CO, AA) and external systems using standard integration patterns and APIs.

Employ AI copilots for drafting functional specifications, validating configurations, generating test scripts, conducting impact analyses, and creating documentation. Apply pre-built AI services for anomaly detection, forecasting, and intelligent validations to optimize finance processes. Utilize AI tools for financial data interpretation, error diagnosis, and efficient issue resolution.

Maintain adherence to SDLC, audit controls, finance governance, data accuracy, and system performance standards. Lead workshops, solution walkthroughs, testing cycles, and troubleshooting sessions enhanced by AI insights. Foster collaboration with finance users, functional and technical teams, and cross-module stakeholders to deliver cohesive, high-quality solutions. Contribute to the development of reusable templates, checklists, documentation patterns, and best practices for AI-assisted development.

A strong foundation in SAP FI S/4HANA processes is essential, covering the Universal Journal, Financial Closing & Reporting, AP/AR Processing, Asset Accounting (AA), Banking & Cash Management, and Taxation/compliance. Experience integrating FI with CO, MM, and SD modules is required.

Practical experience with AI copilots, LLM-based assistants, automated documentation tools, and AI-driven testing is necessary. A fundamental understanding of AI concepts, its limitations, responsible AI usage, and the application of pre-built AI services is expected, focusing on analysis, validation, test generation, workflow optimization, and issue resolution rather than model training or RAG.

Demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills within finance processes and data. Possess clear communication abilities and the capacity to collaborate effectively with both business and technical teams. Be adept at translating business requirements into well-structured SAP finance solutions. A commitment to continuous learning and comfort with adopting AI-enabled workflows is crucial.

Good to have skills include experience with SAP Fiori finance applications, exposure to cloud platforms like Azure, AWS, or GCP for integrations, and familiarity with automated testing tools such as Tricentis or SAP CBTA. A basic understanding of financial analytics and reporting tools is also beneficial.
