Join our team as a Custom Software Engineer to design, code, and enhance system components. You will leverage modern frameworks and agile practices to deliver scalable, high-performing solutions that meet specific business needs.

This role focuses on building AI-native, HANA-optimized SAP applications. You will combine deep ABAP on HANA engineering with agentic AI patterns, including LLMs, tools, retrieval, and evaluation. The goal is to deliver production-grade solutions using HANA pushdown principles and modern ABAP, incorporating governed AI capabilities for reasoning, context retrieval, and assisting enterprise SAP workflows.

Develop and optimize ABAP solutions for SAP HANA, focusing on pushdown principles and efficient data access using CDS views. Build modular, testable, and maintainable ABAP code with a focus on clean architecture and enterprise SDLC. Model enterprise business entities using CDS semantics to support both transactional and analytical needs. Create AI-enabled SAP experiences integrating ABAP services with LLM capabilities, including tool calling and retrieval-grounded outputs. Develop automated tests for ABAP services and data artifacts, and establish evaluation harnesses for AI behaviors. Instrument services with logs, metrics, and traces for production support and root-cause analysis. Integrate ABAP on HANA services with SAP and non-SAP ecosystems, and collaborate with cross-functional teams for end-to-end solution delivery.

Requires strong hands-on expertise in ABAP Development on HANA, including performance tuning and efficient SQL access patterns. Proficiency with CDS views, modern data modeling practices, and AMDP / SQLScript for performance-critical scenarios is essential. Solid software engineering discipline, including clean design, testing mindset, CI/CD orientation, and production readiness, is expected. Experience in AI-native development, encompassing LLM integration, retrieval grounding, tool orchestration, evaluation loops, and safety boundaries, is a must. Beneficial skills include OData/service design patterns, API lifecycle management, experience with cloud runtimes and enterprise integration platforms, and knowledge of SAP security and authorizations.
