This role is for a Custom Software Engineer focused on developing AI-native, cloud-ready SAP solutions. You will leverage deep ABAP and SAP platform expertise, combined with agentic AI architectures and LLM tooling, for rapid experimentation and implementation. The position emphasizes designing, implementing, and scaling intelligent SAP applications that integrate ABAP Cloud with LLMs, retrieval pipelines, and enterprise systems, aiming for autonomy beyond simple automation.

Our focus is on building sophisticated AI systems rather than merely consuming AI tools. You'll contribute to creating innovative SAP solutions that integrate advanced AI capabilities directly into core business processes.

Design and build ABAP Cloud applications embedding LLM-driven intelligence into SAP business processes. Implement AI-enabled SAP extensions using RAP, event-driven patterns, and cloud-native architectures, writing clean, testable code. Integrate LLMs, embeddings, and RAG pipelines with ABAP Cloud services for contextual responses, and build agentic workflows including tools, planners, memory, and orchestration loops.

Develop retrieval pipelines using SAP and non-SAP data sources. Implement chunking, indexing, and context assembly for production-grade RAG. Ensure factuality, traceability, and explainability in AI-driven SAP workflows. Implement evaluation frameworks and design guardrails for authorization, data privacy, and error handling. Build observability into AI-enabled applications and continuously refine AI behavior, prompts, and orchestration.

A minimum of 2-5 years of experience is required. Must possess strong skills in SAP ABAP Cloud, including RAP, CDS, OData, and clean core principles. Significant hands-on experience integrating LLMs and AI services into applications is essential, along with experience building RAG pipelines, embeddings, and contextual retrieval.

Solid software engineering fundamentals in design, testing, and CI/CD are crucial. The ability to translate complex business problems into effective AI-enabled SAP solutions is a key requirement. Beneficial skills include experience with SAP BTP, eventing, APIs, cloud services, agent frameworks, and familiarity with vector databases or semantic indexing.
