We are seeking a technically adept and delivery-focused Android Application Development Lead. This position is instrumental in driving the design and development of cutting-edge infotainment applications using Android Automotive OS (AAOS). The role encompasses full-stack architecture, deep HAL integration, and collaborative system-level efforts to deliver automotive-grade user experiences.
Ideal candidates will possess at least 4 years of dedicated experience in Android development, coupled with profound expertise in AAOS, embedded systems, and modern infotainment platforms. This is an opportunity to shape the future of automotive user interfaces.
Lead the architectural design and development of robust infotainment applications leveraging AAOS, emphasizing modularity, peak performance, and ease of maintenance.
Architect comprehensive full-stack solutions encompassing media playback, navigation systems, user profile management, and distributed playback functionalities.
Develop critical modules for seamless VHAL and other HAL interactions using AIDL/HIDL, ensuring efficient communication pathways.
Integrate applications effectively with core system services and specialized vendor-specific frameworks.
Proactively identify and resolve complex issues across application, framework, and HAL layers to guarantee system stability and optimal performance.
Collaborate closely with platform, hardware, and QA teams to facilitate seamless integration and comprehensive validation processes.
Mentor junior developers, instilling best practices in architectural design, code quality standards, and rigorous testing methodologies.
Produce clear and compelling architecture diagrams, detailed technical specifications, and implementation blueprints for stakeholder presentations.
A minimum of 4 years of experience in Android application development, with a preference for experience in automotive or embedded domains, is essential.
Demonstrated strong proficiency in Java, Kotlin, and C++ (versions 14/17).
Possess a deep understanding of the Android SDK, NDK, Jetpack libraries, and the MVVM architectural pattern.
Hands-on experience with core Android components such as Activities, Services, Broadcast Receivers, and Content Providers.
Practical experience in implementing AIDL/HIDL for VHAL and other HAL-to-app communication.
Familiarity with AAOS car services and the nuances of infotainment integration.
Experience working with Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS, and CAN bus at the application level.
Exposure to media, phone, and navigation applications, as well as cloud communication protocols.
Understanding and experience with partitioning concepts and cross-partition communication mechanisms.
Proficiency in developing and implementing unit tests, instrumentation tests, and utilizing mocking frameworks.
Hands-on experience with Git version control, CI/CD workflows, and essential debugging tools like adb, logcat, Perfetto, and Systrace.
Knowledge of ISO 26262 (Functional Safety) and ASPICE standards is beneficial.
Familiarity with ISO/SAE 21434 (Cybersecurity) practices is a plus.
Understanding of cybersecurity principles including TARA analysis and secure communication protocols is required.
