Embark on a career as a Custom Software Engineer focused on SAP Production Planning (PP) for discrete manufacturing. This role utilizes AI-powered tools and copilots to streamline development, analysis, and issue resolution. You will be instrumental in enhancing production planning, shop floor execution, and material staging processes, with opportunities to integrate pre-built AI services for added efficiency. Note that this position does not involve deep AI model engineering or agentic system development.

Configure and support core SAP PP processes, including Material Requirement Planning (MRP), production orders, routings, work centers, BOM management, capacity planning, and shop floor reporting. Leverage AI copilots to accelerate the creation of functional specifications, routing/BOM validation, test case generation, and documentation automation. Support the full project lifecycle from requirements gathering to hypercare. Integrate PP with other SAP modules like MM, QM, SD, FI/CO, and MES systems. Utilize AI for automated summarization, analysis of exceptions, validation of order execution, and faster defect isolation. Integrate pre-built AI services for predictive insights, intelligent classification of issues, and automated summarization of production deviations.

Ensure compliance with production governance, change controls, and data accuracy standards. Participate in solution reviews and process optimization discussions. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve end-to-end planning excellence. Develop reusable templates and AI-enabled best practices for SAP PP delivery.

A strong foundation in SAP PP is essential, with a deep understanding of discrete manufacturing processes such as BOM/routing management, production order cycles, capacity planning, scheduling, and MRP. Experience integrating SAP PP with MM, QM, SD, and FI/CO is crucial. Familiarity with order confirmations, settlements, and shop floor data capture is expected.

Demonstrate the ability to effectively use AI copilots, automated documentation tools, and AI-assisted test accelerators. Be comfortable embedding pre-built AI capabilities into production planning and execution workflows, and possess an awareness of responsible AI usage.
