This role focuses on developing custom software solutions within SAP FI S/4HANA Accounting. You will design, code, and enhance system components, leveraging modern frameworks and agile practices to deliver scalable and high-performing solutions tailored to specific business needs. The position emphasizes integration, quality delivery, and AI-enabled productivity, without requiring in-depth model development or advanced AI engineering.

As a Custom Software Engineer, you will utilize AI-assisted development tools and copilots to accelerate financial process analysis, configuration, documentation, test creation, and troubleshooting. This role is designed to integrate AI into traditional SAP engineering processes to enhance efficiency and outcomes.

Key responsibilities include configuring and enhancing core SAP FI components such as General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Asset Accounting, Banking, Tax, and Financial Closing. You will translate business requirements into scalable SAP configurations, utilizing AI copilots to speed up analysis and documentation. The role also involves supporting end-to-end delivery, integrating SAP FI with other SAP modules and external systems, and applying pre-built AI services to enhance finance processes.

Furthermore, you will use AI tools for financial data interpretation, error diagnosis, and faster issue resolution. Ensuring compliance with SDLC, audit controls, and finance governance is crucial. This includes conducting workshops, solution walkthroughs, and testing cycles, and collaborating effectively with finance users, functional teams, and cross-module stakeholders to ensure high-quality solutions. Contributing to reusable templates and best practices for AI-assisted development is also expected.

A strong understanding of SAP FI S/4HANA processes is essential, including the Universal Journal, Financial Closing & Reporting, AP/AR Processing, Asset Accounting, Banking & Cash Management, and Taxation and compliance. Experience integrating FI with CO, MM, and SD modules is required.

Hands-on experience with AI copilots, LLM-based assistants, automated documentation, and AI-driven testing tools is necessary. A foundational understanding of AI concepts, limitations, and responsible AI usage, along with practical application of pre-built AI services, is expected. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities in finance processes and data, coupled with clear communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with business and technical teams, are vital. A continuous learning mindset and comfort adopting AI-enabled workflows are also key.
