Join our team as a Custom Software Engineer, specializing in building AI-native enterprise applications on the SAP Business Technology Platform (SAP BTP). This role focuses on combining robust platform engineering with advanced agentic AI patterns, including Large Language Models (LLMs) and retrieval mechanisms. You will be instrumental in developing, deploying, and managing cloud applications, evolving them into intelligent systems through rapid prototyping and production hardening.

Key responsibilities include engineering cloud applications on SAP BTP, encompassing platform fundamentals, administration, solution design, and full-stack development. You will build backend services and APIs using Node.js patterns, develop responsive user interfaces with SAPUI5, and design data models for SAP HANA persistence.

Furthermore, you will manage platform setup, deployment engineering using MTA artifacts, and integrate AI native application patterns. This involves implementing LLM-integrated features, building retrieval-grounded experiences (RAG), and establishing evaluation loops for AI behavior. Upholding engineering excellence through Git workflows, Agile methodologies, and rigorous debugging is also essential.

A minimum of 2-5 years of experience in Custom Software Engineering is required, with a specific need for proficiency in SAP BTP Application Development. A strong foundation in full-stack delivery, including backend services, APIs, data models, and UI integration, is crucial.

Candidates must possess solid software engineering fundamentals, a commitment to clean code and testing, and a CI/CD orientation, enabling the transition from prototype to production. Practical experience with BTP application development tooling, such as SAP Business Application Studio, is highly beneficial. A 15-year full-time education is a mandatory requirement for this role.
