Job description

This role focuses on developing and configuring sophisticated software systems, covering either the entire product lifecycle or specific stages. You will leverage your technical expertise, along with a strong understanding of applications, methodologies, processes, and tools to support clients and projects.

Specifically, this position requires deep knowledge in Automotive Digital Cockpit Solutions, contributing to cutting-edge in-car technology. The role offers a dynamic environment for engineers looking to shape the future of automotive user experiences.

Responsibilities

Drive the design and development of advanced infotainment applications utilizing Android Automotive OS (AAOS), ensuring high performance and maintainability. Architect comprehensive full-stack solutions for core features like media playback, navigation, user profiles, and distributed content delivery.

Develop critical modules for seamless communication with VHAL and other Hardware Abstraction Layers (HALs) using AIDL/HIDL. Integrate applications with essential system services and vendor-specific frameworks to ensure robust functionality.

Proactively identify and resolve complex issues spanning application, framework, and HAL layers to guarantee system stability and optimal performance. Collaborate effectively with platform, hardware, and QA teams for integrated product delivery. Mentor junior developers and champion best practices in architecture, code quality, and testing.

Qualifications

A minimum of 3 years of professional experience is mandatory for this role, with a preference for candidates with 4 years in Android application development, particularly within automotive or embedded domains. Expertise in Java, Kotlin, and C++ (14/17) is essential, alongside a thorough understanding of the Android SDK, NDK, Jetpack libraries, and the MVVM architecture.

Hands-on experience with Android components, including Activities, Services, Broadcast Receivers, and Content Providers, is required. Proficiency in using AIDL/HIDL, VHAL, and managing HAL-to-app communication is crucial. Familiarity with Android Automotive OS (AAOS) car services and infotainment integration is highly desirable.

Additional experience with Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS, and CAN bus at the application level is beneficial. Exposure to media, phone, navigation applications, and cloud communication, along with an understanding of partitioning concepts and cross-partition communication, will strengthen your application. Proficiency in unit testing, instrumentation testing, and mocking frameworks is expected.

A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electronics, or a related field is required. Experience with Git, CI/CD workflows, and debugging tools such as adb, logcat, Perfetto, and Systrace is also necessary. Familiarity with ISO 26262 (Functional Safety), ASPICE, ISO/SAE 21434 (Cybersecurity), TARA, and secure communication practices is a significant advantage.
