Seeking a skilled Custom Software Engineer to design, code, and enhance system components using modern frameworks and agile practices. This role focuses on delivering scalable, high-performing solutions tailored to specific business requirements. The position emphasizes leveraging AI-assisted development tools and copilots to accelerate various stages of the software development lifecycle, including requirement analysis, configuration, testing, and problem resolution.
This role is integral to optimizing procurement, inventory management, and supplier collaboration through AI-enhanced processes. While AI tools will be utilized extensively, deep involvement in core LLM development, RAG, or agentic AI systems is not required, allowing focus on application within SAP MM functionalities.
As a Custom Software Engineer, you will be responsible for configuring and optimizing SAP Materials Management (MM) processes, including Procure-to-Pay (P2P), purchase requisition/order management, vendor management, and inventory control. You will utilize AI copilots to generate functional specifications, validate configurations, create test cases, and automate documentation. Your role includes supporting end-to-end delivery from requirements gathering to hypercare and integrating MM with other SAP modules and external systems.
Key duties also involve applying AI tools to expedite requirement interpretation, data validation, error diagnostics, test creation, and document generation. You will integrate pre-built AI services to enhance MM operations, such as automated material classification and predictive signals for inventory and deliveries. Utilizing LLM-assisted troubleshooting will be crucial for reducing incident resolution times. Ensuring compliance with procurement governance and contributing to process optimization discussions are also vital aspects of this role.
This role requires a strong foundation in SAP MM expertise, including a thorough understanding of P2P processes, purchasing documents, vendor evaluation, and inventory management. You should have experience configuring material and vendor masters, purchase orders, goods movements, and release strategies, with familiarity in integrating with SD, FI, PP, and QM modules. Knowledge of IDocs, outputs, pricing procedures, and common MM troubleshooting patterns is essential.
Candidates must possess hands-on experience with AI copilots, LLM-powered documentation tools, and AI-assisted testing accelerators. The ability to integrate pre-built AI capabilities into MM workflows for automation and insight generation is key. A strong understanding of responsible AI usage, data quality, and AI limitations within procurement contexts is also expected. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills are necessary, alongside a continuous learning mindset comfortable with adopting AI-enabled productivity tools. A minimum of 3 years of experience is required.
