As a Custom Software Engineer, you will architect and develop cutting-edge SAP solutions leveraging ABAP Cloud. This role focuses on building AI-native, cloud-ready applications that integrate deeply with SAP business processes.

Embrace modern frameworks and agile methodologies to deliver scalable, high-performance software tailored to specific business requirements. You will be instrumental in combining deep ABAP and SAP platform expertise with advanced AI architectures, including LLM tooling and rapid experimentation.

Design and implement AI-native SAP applications by embedding LLM-driven intelligence into core business processes. Develop extensions using the RESTful ABAP Programming Model (RAP), event-driven patterns, and cloud-native architectures, ensuring clean and testable ABAP code.

Integrate LLMs, embeddings, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines into ABAP Cloud services for contextual, grounded responses. Build robust retrieval pipelines from SAP and non-SAP data sources, focusing on factuality, traceability, and explainability.

Implement evaluation frameworks and design guardrails for authorization, data privacy, and error handling. Build observability into AI-enabled applications through telemetry and logging, and ensure rapid prototyping and iteration to move AI solutions into production.

A strong foundation in SAP ABAP Cloud is essential, including experience with RAP, CDS Views, OData, and clean core principles. Hands-on experience integrating LLMs and AI services into applications, along with building RAG pipelines, embeddings, and contextual retrieval systems, is required.

Solid software engineering fundamentals, encompassing design, testing, and CI/CD, are crucial. The ability to translate complex business problems into effective AI-enabled SAP solutions is paramount. A minimum of 3 years of experience is expected.
