Join our team as a Custom Software Engineer to build AI-native, cloud-ready SAP solutions. This role focuses on leveraging deep ABAP and SAP platform expertise combined with agentic AI architectures and LLM tooling. You will design, implement, and scale intelligent SAP applications that integrate ABAP Cloud with LLMs, retrieval pipelines, and enterprise systems.

This position is for individuals who are passionate about actively building AI systems, going beyond simply consuming AI tools. We aim to move from automation to autonomy in enterprise workflows through innovative SAP solutions.

Develop and enhance custom software components across various systems and applications using modern frameworks and agile methodologies. Design and build ABAP Cloud applications that embed LLM-driven intelligence into SAP business processes.

Implement AI-enabled SAP extensions using RESTful ABAP Programming Model (RAP), event-driven patterns, and cloud-native architectures. Develop clean, testable ABAP code for seamless integration with AI services and enterprise APIs. Integrate LLMs, embeddings, and retrieval augmented generation (RAG) pipelines with ABAP Cloud services for contextual and grounded responses. Ensure factuality, traceability, and explainability in AI-driven SAP workflows.

Build and integrate retrieval pipelines using both SAP and non-SAP data sources. Design prompt templates, grounding strategies, fallback logic, and safety boundaries suitable for enterprise SAP use cases. Implement evaluation frameworks and guardrails for authorization, data privacy, and error handling. Develop observability into AI-enabled applications and continuously refine AI behavior, prompts, and orchestration strategies for rapid experimentation and scale-out.

A minimum of 2-5 years of experience in software engineering is required, with at least 3 years in a dedicated role. Proficiency in SAP ABAP Cloud, including RAP, CDS, OData, and clean core principles, is essential.

Candidates must possess hands-on experience integrating LLMs and AI services into applications, along with proven experience building RAG pipelines, embeddings, and contextual retrieval. Strong software engineering fundamentals encompassing design, testing, and CI/CD practices are expected. The ability to translate complex business problems into AI-enabled SAP solutions is crucial.

Familiarity with SAP BTP, eventing, APIs, and cloud services is highly beneficial. Experience with agent frameworks, custom orchestration logic, vector databases, search, semantic indexing, and knowledge of enterprise security, authorization, and compliance patterns will be advantageous. A 15-year full-time education is required for this position.
