Job description

We are seeking a technically proficient and delivery-oriented Android Application Development Lead to spearhead the design and development of infotainment applications utilizing Android Automotive OS (AAOS). This role encompasses full-stack architecture, HAL integration, and cross-system collaboration to deliver high-performance, automotive-grade user experiences.

The ideal candidate will possess four years of experience in Android development, with profound expertise in AAOS, embedded systems, and infotainment platforms.

Responsibilities

Lead the design and development of infotainment applications using AAOS, prioritizing modularity, performance, and maintainability.

Architect robust full-stack solutions for media, navigation, user profiles, and distributed playback features.

Develop modules for seamless interaction with VHAL and other HALs via AIDL/HIDL.

Integrate applications with essential system services and vendor-specific frameworks.

Effectively debug and optimize across application, framework, and HAL layers to ensure system stability and peak performance.

Collaborate closely with platform, hardware, and QA teams for unified integration and validation.

Provide mentorship to junior developers, enforcing best practices in architecture, code quality, and testing.

Create and present clear architecture diagrams, technical specifications, and implementation details to stakeholders.

Qualifications

A minimum of four years of experience in Android application development is required, preferably within automotive or embedded domains.

Demonstrate strong proficiency in Java, Kotlin, and C++ (14/17).

Possess a deep understanding of Android SDK, NDK, Jetpack libraries, and MVVM architecture.

Showcase hands-on experience with Android components like Activities, Services, Broadcast Receivers, and Content Providers.

Have practical experience with AIDL/HIDL, VHAL, and HAL-to-app communication mechanisms.

Exhibit familiarity with AAOS car services and infotainment integration.

Possess experience with Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS, and CAN at the application level.

Familiarity with media, phone, navigation applications, and cloud communication is advantageous.

Experience with partitioning concepts and cross-partition communication is beneficial.

Proficiency in unit testing, instrumentation testing, and mocking frameworks is essential.

Hands-on experience with Git, CI/CD workflows, and debugging tools such as adb, logcat, Perfetto, and Systrace is required.

Knowledge of ISO 26262 (Functional Safety) and ASPICE is expected.

Familiarity with ISO/SAE 21434 (Cybersecurity) is required.

Understanding of cybersecurity practices, including TARA and secure communication protocols, is necessary.

Minimum of 4 years of experience in Infotainment & Telematics.

Bachelors or Masters degree in Engineering (Computer Science, Electronics, or Electrical) is required.
