This role focuses on building AI-native, HANA-optimized solutions by integrating deep ABAP on HANA engineering with cutting-edge agentic AI patterns. You will be instrumental in delivering high-performance, cloud-ready, production-grade solutions that leverage HANA pushdown principles, modern ABAP, and governed AI capabilities.

Your work will involve creating systems that can reason, retrieve context, and assist or act within enterprise SAP workflows without requiring the training of foundation models from scratch. Design and develop ABAP solutions meticulously optimized for SAP HANA, employing pushdown principles to maximize in-database processing. Build efficient data models and access patterns using CDS views, associations, and annotations, while implementing performance-critical logic with AMDP/SQLScript. Develop modular, testable, and maintainable ABAP code following clean architecture practices and modern service/API development paradigms. Model enterprise business entities using CDS semantics to support both transactional and analytical consumption, ensuring reusable and lineage-friendly data artifacts.

Construct AI-enabled SAP experiences by integrating ABAP services with LLM capabilities, focusing on tool calling orchestration, retrieval-grounded outputs over governed SAP data, and deterministic fallbacks. Implement robust automated testing for ABAP services and data artifacts, and establish evaluation harnesses for AI behaviors. Instrument services with comprehensive logs, metrics, and traces for production support and root-cause analysis, designing robust error handling for enterprise flows. Integrate ABAP on HANA services with SAP and non-SAP ecosystems, collaborating across teams to ensure end-to-end solution correctness and performance.

A strong foundation in ABAP Development on HANA is essential, including expertise in performance tuning, pushdown techniques, and efficient SQL access patterns. Proficiency with CDS views and modern data modeling practices, such as associations, annotations, and authorization concepts, is required. Experience with AMDP/SQLScript for performance-critical scenarios and controlled code pushdown is also crucial.

Solid software engineering discipline is a must, encompassing clean design principles, a testing mindset, CI/CD orientation, and a focus on production readiness. Candidates should possess AI native build capabilities, including LLM integration, retrieval grounding, tool orchestration, evaluation loops, and an understanding of safety boundaries.
