Join our team as a Custom Software Engineer and spearhead the development of AI-native, cloud-ready SAP solutions. This role centers on building intelligent SAP applications by merging deep ABAP and SAP platform expertise with cutting-edge agentic AI architectures, LLM tooling, and rapid experimentation.

You will be instrumental in designing, implementing, and scaling sophisticated SAP applications. The focus is on seamless integration between ABAP Cloud, Large Language Models (LLMs), retrieval pipelines, APIs, and existing enterprise systems, driving transformation from automation to true autonomy.

Design and construct advanced ABAP Cloud applications that embed LLM-driven intelligence into critical SAP business processes. Implement AI-enabled SAP extensions using modern paradigms like the RESTful ABAP Programming Model (RAP), event-driven patterns, and cloud-native architectures. Ensure the development of clean, thoroughly tested ABAP code that integrates flawlessly with AI services and enterprise APIs. Develop agentic workflows, including tools, planners, memory management, orchestration, and evaluation loops, directly integrated with SAP processes. Integrate LLMs, embeddings, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines with ABAP Cloud services to deliver contextually relevant and grounded responses. Design robust prompt templates, grounding strategies, fallback logic, and safety boundaries specifically tailored for enterprise SAP use cases. Build and integrate comprehensive retrieval pipelines utilizing both SAP and non-SAP data sources, including business objects, CDS views, documents, and events. Implement efficient chunking, indexing, embeddings, and context assembly to support production-grade RAG scenarios, ensuring factuality, traceability, and explainability in AI-driven SAP workflows. Establish evaluation frameworks (both offline and online) for AI behaviors within SAP processes. Design essential guardrails for authorization, data privacy, action boundaries, and error handling. Integrate robust observability into AI-enabled SAP applications through telemetry, logging, and failure analysis.

Rapidly prototype, frequently demo solutions, and iterate based on valuable business feedback. Successfully transition AI prototypes into enterprise-grade SAP production systems, prioritizing performance, security, and compliance. Continuously refine AI behavior, prompts, and orchestration strategies for optimal results.

A foundational requirement for this role includes SAP ABAP Cloud proficiency, encompassing RAP, CDS, OData, and adherence to clean core principles. Demonstrate hands-on experience integrating LLMs and AI services into application development. Possess practical experience in building RAG pipelines, managing embeddings, and implementing contextual retrieval mechanisms. Exhibit strong software engineering fundamentals, covering design principles, comprehensive testing strategies, and CI/CD practices. Possess the ability to effectively translate complex business problems into innovative, AI-enabled SAP solutions.
