This role is dedicated to building AI-native, cloud-ready SAP solutions using ABAP Cloud. It combines deep ABAP and SAP platform expertise with advanced AI architectures, including Large Language Models (LLMs) and agentic approaches.

The primary focus is on creating and scaling intelligent SAP applications. This involves seamlessly integrating ABAP Cloud with LLMs, retrieval pipelines, APIs, and existing enterprise systems, moving beyond simple automation towards autonomous operations.

This position actively contributes to the development of AI systems, rather than just utilizing AI tools. The goal is to innovate and implement cutting-edge solutions that leverage AI to enhance SAP functionalities.

Design and develop robust ABAP Cloud applications, embedding LLM-driven intelligence directly into SAP business processes.

Implement AI-enabled SAP extensions utilizing the RESTful ABAP Programming Model (RAP), event-driven patterns, and cloud-native architectures.

Write clean, well-tested ABAP code that integrates flawlessly with AI services and essential enterprise APIs.

Integrate LLMs, embeddings, and Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines with ABAP Cloud services to ensure contextual and grounded responses.

Build and integrate retrieval pipelines that leverage both SAP and non-SAP data sources, including business objects, CDS views, documents, and events.

Implement evaluation frameworks and design guardrails for authorization, data privacy, action boundaries, and error handling to ensure quality and reliability.

A strong foundation in SAP ABAP Cloud is essential, including proficiency with RAP, CDS, OData, and clean core principles.

Hands-on experience integrating LLMs and AI services into applications is required.

Proven experience in building RAG pipelines, working with embeddings, and implementing contextual retrieval mechanisms.

Solid software engineering fundamentals, encompassing design, testing, and CI/CD practices, are crucial.

An ability to translate complex business problems into effective AI-enabled SAP solutions is a key requirement.
