As a Custom Software Engineer, you will engage in the full software development lifecycle, from conception to implementation. Your contributions will ensure the creation of robust and efficient software that drives business success. Develop and maintain sophisticated test scripts for TCU validation, utilizing Java-based automation frameworks like ET Framework. Collaborate closely with firmware and system engineers to translate complex requirements into effective test cases. Execute automated test scripts, meticulously analyze the outcomes, and accurately report any defects with clear, comprehensive documentation. Contribute actively to continuous integration processes for automated testing, ensuring smooth and efficient workflows. Participate actively in Agile/Scrum meetings, providing timely and insightful updates on task progress. Support the team in debugging test bench issues and resolving inconsistencies in test results to maintain data integrity.

This role requires a minimum of 2-5 years of professional experience. A strong foundation in Java is essential, including a solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming principles, Collections, and File I/O. Proficiency in Java with Spring Boot and a background in Microservices is a must. Familiarity with technologies such as Apache Flink, Apache Kafka, Azure Eventhubs, AKS/EKS, Docker/Kubernetes, Datadog/Grafana/Prometheus/Splunk, and Terraform is highly desirable.

Practical experience with the Spring Framework for building and structuring automation components is crucial. Experience in developing test automation and REST API validation using Java is required. You should possess strong hands-on experience in Java (version 8 or above), with a good grasp of OOP principles, exception handling, multithreading, and the collections framework. Proficiency in writing unit tests using JUnit and mocking frameworks like Mockito is expected. Knowledge of automotive communication protocols or embedded systems testing is a plus. Familiarity with version control tools like Git/GitLab, strong problem-solving and debugging skills, and excellent verbal and written communication abilities are also key.

Ability to work effectively both independently and within a collaborative team environment is important. Candidates should demonstrate attention to detail and take ownership of assigned modules. Exposure to ET Framework or other proprietary test frameworks is beneficial, as is an understanding of TCU or connected vehicle technologies. Automotive domain experience is preferred. A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field is required. This position is based in Bengaluru.
