As a Custom Software Engineer, you will be instrumental in developing bespoke software solutions. This involves designing, coding, and refining components across various systems and applications. Leveraging modern frameworks and agile methodologies, you will deliver scalable, high-performance solutions precisely tailored to meet specific business objectives.
This role focuses on creating and enhancing custom software, ensuring it aligns perfectly with client needs and industry best practices. The emphasis is on building robust and efficient software that drives value and innovation.
You will lead the development and integration of the AOSP connectivity stack, bringing up Bluetooth/Wi-Fi components on Automotive Android OS. This includes integrating and customizing Android connectivity interfaces and supporting transitions across interface mechanisms. You will enable core connectivity functions, implement In-Vehicle Infotainment (IVI) specific use cases, and design/develop Bluetooth and Wi-Fi based audio/video streaming solutions.
Responsibilities also extend to driving validation, debugging, and optimization for performance, stability, and coexistence in automotive environments. You will ensure readiness for Android platform compatibility, support annual upgrades, and participate in Bluetooth SIG and Wi-Fi Alliance certification activities. Furthermore, you will implement secure connectivity behaviors, support OTA updates, and own defect triage and long-term maintenance.
A strong foundation in Android platform/AOSP development with system-level debugging experience is essential. Proficiency in Bluetooth and Wi-Fi fundamentals, including their respective Android architectures and HAL surfaces, is required. You should be adept at integrating Wi-Fi HAL surfaces and familiar with AIDL/HIDL patterns. Experience with specific profiles like A2DP, ARCVP, HFP/HSP, and BLE GATT/GAP is necessary.
Proficiency in C/C++ and Java is crucial, with Kotlin being beneficial. Excellent debugging skills using Android/system tools are expected. You must be able to collaborate effectively with chipset vendors and system integrators to resolve integration blockers. Experience with Bluetooth qualification tooling and Wi-Fi certification processes is highly advantageous. Familiarity with coexistence/interference mitigation and network performance tuning is also important.
