Join our team as a Custom Software Engineer, where you will be instrumental in developing and enhancing sophisticated software solutions. This role involves designing, coding, and refining components across various systems and applications, leveraging modern frameworks and agile methodologies. The focus is on delivering scalable, high-performing solutions that precisely meet unique business requirements.

This position requires a strong background in SAP PP Production Planning & Control for Discrete Industries. You will utilize AI-assisted development tools and copilots to streamline requirement analysis, configuration, testing, documentation, and issue resolution. The objective is to optimize production planning, shop floor execution, and material staging processes, incorporating pre-built AI services where advantageous.

This role does not involve deep AI model engineering, vector database work, RAG, or agentic system development.

Configure and support SAP PP processes, encompassing Material Requirement Planning (MRP), production orders, routings, work centers, BOM management, capacity planning, scheduling, backflushing, costing integration, goods movements, and shop floor reporting.

Utilize AI copilots to expedite functional specification creation, routing/BOM validation, test case generation for MRP and order creation, and documentation automation.

Provide comprehensive support across the full delivery lifecycle, from requirements and design through configuration, SIT/UAT, deployment, and hypercare support. Ensure seamless integration of PP with MM, QM, SD, FI/CO, and shop floor systems (MES), utilizing standard APIs and middleware.

Employ AI copilots for automated summarization of requirements and change impacts, analysis of MRP exceptions, validation of order execution, and faster defect isolation in configurations. Integrate pre-built AI services into production workflows for predictive insights and intelligent classification of production issues.

A minimum of 3 years of experience is required. A solid understanding of discrete manufacturing processes, including BOM/routing management, production order cycles, capacity planning, scheduling, and MRP, is essential. Experience with integration across MM, QM, SD, and FI/CO, along with familiarity with order confirmations, settlements, and shop floor data capture, is expected.

Demonstrated ability to use AI copilots, automated documentation tools, and AI-assisted test accelerators is crucial. Comfort with embedding pre-built AI capabilities into production planning or execution, alongside an awareness of responsible AI usage, is also required. Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills are vital, as is a continuous learning mindset with comfort in adopting AI-assisted workflows.

Further preferred qualifications include SAP PP Certification (S/4HANA Manufacturing), experience with MES systems, shop floor integrations, or IoT enabled production data, and exposure to EWM/WM, PM, or APO/IBP environments.
