Innovate and engineer AI-native, HANA-optimized SAP applications. This role involves building extensions by blending deep ABAP on HANA expertise with advanced agentic AI patterns, including LLMs, tools, retrieval, and evaluation.

The focus is on delivering high-performance, cloud-ready, production-grade solutions. You will leverage HANA pushdown principles, modern ABAP practices, and governed AI capabilities to enable systems that can reason, access context, and act within enterprise SAP workflows, all without requiring training of foundational models from scratch.

Design and develop ABAP solutions optimized for SAP HANA, utilizing pushdown principles and efficient data models with CDS views. Implement performance-critical logic using AMDP/SQLScript while adhering to clean architecture and enterprise SDLC for modular, testable code. Build services and APIs with modern paradigms like OData, ensuring stability and contract-first behavior, alongside secure coding standards. Model enterprise business entities using CDS semantics for transactional and analytical consumption, creating reusable data artifacts. Develop AI-enabled SAP experiences integrating ABAP services with LLM capabilities, focusing on tool calling, retrieval grounding, and deterministic fallbacks. Build automated tests for ABAP services and data artifacts, establishing evaluation harnesses for AI behaviors and introducing guardrails for AI outputs. Instrument services with logs, metrics, and traces for production support and root-cause analysis, designing robust error handling for enterprise flows. Integrate ABAP on HANA services with SAP and non-SAP ecosystems, collaborating with cross-functional teams for end-to-end solution correctness.

Possess strong hands-on expertise in ABAP Development on HANA, including performance tuning, pushdown techniques, and efficient SQL access patterns. Demonstrate proficiency with CDS views and modern data modeling practices, such as associations, annotations, and authorization concepts. Showcase experience with AMDP/SQLScript for performance-critical scenarios and controlled code pushdown. Exhibit solid software engineering discipline, including clean design, a testing mindset, CI/CD orientation, and a focus on production readiness. Have AI native build capability, with experience in LLM integration, retrieval grounding, tool orchestration, evaluation loops, and safety boundary implementation. A minimum of three years of relevant experience is required, along with 15 years of full-time education.
