This is a customer-facing position supporting new and emerging technologies during pre and post-implementation phases. You will act as an escalation point for intricate issues, requiring a deep understanding of our offerings. Expertise in areas like network issues, APIs, databases (MSSQL, Oracle, Postgres, Hana/DB2), Java, and Linux is essential for success.

As a Custom Software Engineer, you will serve as the final escalation point for complex and critical client issues, driving exceptional customer experience through prompt and positive interactions. You will be responsible for communicating customer needs to internal teams and providing technical leadership to junior staff.

Your role involves demonstrating self-direction to meet performance targets and acting as a liaison during customer program implementations to ensure thorough product and technology understanding for post-implementation support. You will provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for technical solutions, analyze event chains, and apply technical knowledge according to established procedures.

This position requires working closely with emerging products and technologies, implementing support processes, and resolving highly technical and sensitive issues creatively. Building strong relationships with internal and external customers is key, as is receiving and handling escalations from Tier 2 analysts. You will also contribute to creating and maintaining knowledge entries, maintaining support systems, and participating in various projects.

We are seeking individuals with professional experience in troubleshooting, maintaining, or developing data-driven applications connected to relational databases, XML sources, and high-volume web services. Expertise in database technologies (Oracle, SQL Server, Postgres, DB2, Hana), Java, XML, web services, ERPs, network architecture, or performance tuning is highly valued.

You should possess expert knowledge of supported transmission types (XML, REST, JSON) and processing tools like SoapUI and Postman. Experience with Data Security & Operations, LINUX, and Web Programming, including HTTP programming and web services in ABAP and JAVA, is required. Familiarity with SAP NetWeaver Architecture and Integration technology, as well as SAP Mobility Technology, is a plus.

Candidates should understand VM's, NAS, Unix, Shell programming, mainframe systems, and possess deep understanding and debugging experience with networking protocols. Excellent debugging skills across various technologies, strong interpersonal, organizational, presentation, and facilitation skills are essential. A results-oriented and customer-focused mindset is paramount.

This role involves handling customer escalations calmly in stressful situations, applying professional concepts for in-depth analysis, and exercising effective communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages and a solid understanding of business communications are necessary. On-call duties on a rotational basis are part of this position.
