We are seeking a Custom Software Engineer to design, code, and enhance components across systems and applications.

This role involves leveraging modern frameworks and agile practices to deliver scalable, high-performing solutions tailored to specific business needs. You will primarily focus on configuring and supporting SAP Production Planning (PP) processes within discrete manufacturing environments, utilizing AI-assisted development tools and copilots to streamline various project phases.

Our ideal candidate will accelerate requirement analysis, configuration, testing, documentation, and issue resolution, ensuring efficient production planning, shop floor execution, and material staging processes. Integration of pre-built AI services will be a key aspect, though deep AI model engineering is not required.

Configure and support core SAP PP processes, including Material Requirement Planning (MRP), production orders, routings, work centers, BOM management, capacity planning, scheduling, backflushing, costing integration, and shop floor reporting.

Utilize AI copilots to expedite the creation of functional specifications, validation of routings/BOMs, generation of test cases, and automation of documentation. Support the full project lifecycle from requirements gathering and design through SIT/UAT, deployment, and hypercare.

Integrate SAP PP with other modules like MM, QM, SD, FI/CO, and shop floor systems (MES) using standard APIs and middleware. Employ AI copilots for automated summarization of requirements, analysis of MRP exceptions, validation of order execution, and faster defect isolation.

Embed pre-built AI services into production workflows for predictive insights, intelligent classification of issues, automated summarization of deviations, and smart suggestions based on historical performance. Leverage LLM assisted troubleshooting for MRP exceptions and order failures.

A strong understanding of discrete manufacturing processes is essential, including BOM/routing management, production order cycles, capacity planning, scheduling, and MRP. Experience integrating SAP PP with MM, QM, SD, and FI/CO, as well as familiarity with order confirmations and shop floor data capture, is required.

Candidates should possess the ability to effectively use AI copilots, automated documentation tools, and AI assisted test accelerators. Comfort in embedding pre-built AI capabilities into production planning or execution, along with an awareness of responsible AI usage, is expected.

General professional skills include strong analytical and problem-solving abilities related to production variability and resource planning. The capacity to translate manufacturing requirements into scalable SAP PP configurations, coupled with excellent communication and collaboration skills, is crucial.
