As a Custom Software Engineer, you will be instrumental in developing bespoke software solutions. This involves the complete lifecycle of coding, designing, and enhancing components across various systems and applications. Leveraging modern frameworks and agile methodologies, you will deliver scalable, high-performing solutions meticulously crafted to meet specific business requirements.
This role emphasizes the utilization of AI-assisted development tools and copilots to streamline tasks such as requirement analysis, configuration, testing, documentation, and problem resolution within SAP Materials Management (MM). The objective is to enhance efficiency in procurement, inventory management, and supplier collaboration through the integration of pre-built AI capabilities, without requiring in-depth involvement in core AI model development.
You will configure and optimize core SAP MM processes, including Procure-to-Pay (P2P), Purchase Requisition/Order Management, Vendor Management, and Inventory Management. Utilize AI copilots to generate functional specifications, validate configurations, create test cases, and automate documentation. Support the end-to-end delivery lifecycle, from requirements gathering to hypercare.
Accelerate tasks using AI tools for requirement interpretation, data validation, error diagnostics, and test creation. Integrate pre-built AI services to enhance MM operations, such as automated material classification or predictive signals for low stock. Leverage LLM-assisted troubleshooting to reduce incident resolution times.
Ensure adherence to procurement governance and operational controls. Participate in process optimization discussions, supported by AI-generated insights. Collaborate effectively with procurement, finance, and engineering teams to deliver cohesive MM solutions. Contribute reusable templates and AI-augmented best practices.
A strong understanding of SAP MM processes, including P2P flows, vendor evaluation, and inventory management, is essential. You should have experience configuring material master, vendor master, PO/PR processing, and release strategies. Familiarity with integrations across SAP modules (SD, FI, PP, QM) and knowledge of IDocs, outputs, and common troubleshooting patterns are required.
Hands-on experience with AI copilots, LLM-powered documentation tools, and AI-assisted testing accelerators is crucial. You should be comfortable integrating pre-built AI capabilities into MM workflows for automation and insight generation, understanding the responsible use of AI and its limitations.
Possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills relevant to procurement and material management. The ability to translate business needs into scalable SAP MM configurations and demonstrate clear communication and collaboration skills are key. A continuous learning mindset and comfort with adopting AI-enabled productivity tools are highly valued.
