The Custom Software Engineer role focuses on developing and enhancing software components to meet specific business needs. This position leverages modern frameworks and agile methodologies to deliver scalable and high-performing solutions.

This role involves designing, configuring, and refining SAP FI S/4HANA Accounting functionalities. You will utilize AI-assisted development tools to streamline financial process analysis, configuration, documentation, testing, and troubleshooting. The emphasis is on integration, quality, and AI-driven productivity, without requiring deep model development or advanced AI engineering.

This position requires a minimum of 3 years of experience and a full-time education of 15 years.

Key responsibilities include configuring and enhancing core SAP FI components such as General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Asset Accounting, Banking, Tax, and Financial Closing. You will translate business requirements into scalable SAP configurations, utilizing AI copilots to accelerate analysis and documentation.

Support end-to-end delivery, including requirements gathering, solution design, configuration, testing, deployment, and hypercare. Integrate SAP FI with other SAP modules (MM, SD, CO, AA) and external systems using standard integration patterns and APIs.

Leverage AI copilots for drafting functional specifications, validating configurations, generating test scripts, performing impact analysis, and creating documentation. Apply pre-built AI services for anomaly detection, forecasting, and intelligent validations to enhance finance processes.

Ensure compliance with SDLC, audit controls, finance governance, data accuracy, and system performance standards. Conduct workshops, solution walkthroughs, testing cycles, and troubleshooting sessions using AI-enhanced insights. Collaborate effectively with finance users, functional teams, technical teams, and cross-module stakeholders to ensure high-quality, aligned solutions.

Contribute to the development of reusable templates, checklists, documentation patterns, and best practices for AI-assisted development.

Essential skills include a strong understanding of SAP FI S/4HANA processes, covering the Universal Journal, Financial Closing & Reporting, AP/AR Processing, Asset Accounting, Banking & Cash Management, and Taxation and compliance. Experience integrating FI with CO, MM, and SD modules is also required.

Candidates must possess hands-on experience with AI copilots, LLM-based assistants, automated documentation, and AI-driven testing tools. A foundational understanding of AI concepts, limitations, responsible AI usage, and the practical application of pre-built AI services is necessary. The ability to utilize AI for analysis, validation, test generation, workflow optimization, and issue resolution is crucial.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills related to finance processes and data are vital. Clear communication abilities and the capacity to collaborate effectively with both business and technical teams are expected. The ability to translate business requirements into well-structured SAP finance solutions and a continuous learning mindset, with comfort adopting AI-enabled workflows, are also key requirements.
