This position involves combining deep ABAP and SAP platform expertise with cutting-edge AI architectures, LLM tooling, and rapid experimentation. You will focus on designing, implementing, and scaling intelligent SAP applications that seamlessly integrate ABAP Cloud with LLMs, retrieval pipelines, APIs, and enterprise systems, driving the evolution from automation to autonomy. This is a hands-on role where you will actively build AI systems, not merely consume AI tools, to create transformative solutions.

Design and construct ABAP Cloud applications that embed LLM-driven intelligence into critical SAP business processes. Implement AI-enabled SAP extensions leveraging the RESTful ABAP Programming Model (RAP), event-driven patterns, and cloud-native architectures. Develop clean, thoroughly tested ABAP code that integrates flawlessly with AI services and enterprise APIs. Integrate agentic workflows, including tools, planners, memory, orchestration, and evaluation loops, directly with SAP processes. Incorporate LLMs, embeddings, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines with ABAP Cloud services to ensure contextual and grounded responses. Craft sophisticated prompt templates, grounding strategies, fallback logic, and safety boundaries tailored for enterprise SAP use cases. Build and integrate retrieval pipelines using both SAP and non-SAP data sources such as business objects, CDS views, documents, and events. Implement chunking, indexing, embeddings, and context assembly to support production-grade RAG scenarios. Ensure factuality, traceability, and explainability within AI-driven SAP workflows. Implement robust evaluation frameworks, both offline and online, for AI behaviors integrated with SAP processes. Design comprehensive guardrails for authorization, data privacy, action boundaries, and error handling. Incorporate observability into AI-enabled SAP applications, including telemetry, logging, and failure analysis. Rapidly prototype solutions, demo frequently, and iterate based on valuable business feedback. Successfully transition AI prototypes into enterprise-grade SAP production systems, prioritizing performance, security, and compliance. Continuously refine AI behavior, prompts, and orchestration strategies to optimize outcomes.

Minimum of 2 years of experience is required, with a minimum of 3 years of experience being essential. Possess strong expertise in SAP ABAP Cloud, including RAP, CDS, OData, and clean core principles. Demonstrate hands-on experience integrating LLMs and AI services into applications. Proven experience in building RAG pipelines, embeddings, and contextual retrieval systems. Solid understanding of software engineering fundamentals, encompassing design, testing, and CI/CD practices. Ability to effectively translate complex business problems into actionable, AI-enabled SAP solutions. A 15-year full-time education is a mandatory requirement.
