As a Custom Software Engineer, you will be instrumental in designing, coding, and enhancing system components and applications. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with AI copilots and advanced tools to accelerate various stages of SAP Materials Management (MM) project lifecycles. You will contribute to optimizing procurement, inventory management, and supplier collaboration by integrating pre-built AI capabilities, enhancing efficiency without requiring deep involvement in core AI model development.

Key responsibilities include configuring and optimizing SAP MM processes such as Procure to Pay (P2P), Purchase Requisition/Order Management, Source List & Quota Arrangements, Vendor Management, Inventory Management, Reservations & Movements, Material Master Data, and Release Strategies & Pricing.

You will employ AI copilots to generate functional specifications, validate configuration logic, create high-quality test cases, and automate crucial documentation. This role also involves supporting end-to-end delivery from requirements gathering through hypercare, and integrating MM with SD, FI, PP, QM, and external systems via standard APIs, IDocs, and middleware.

Furthermore, you will apply AI tools to accelerate requirement interpretation, process design, data validation, error diagnostics, and test creation. Responsibilities extend to document generation and integrating pre-built AI services for enhanced MM operations, like automated classification and predictive signals. LLM-assisted troubleshooting will be used to reduce incident resolution times.

Ensuring compliance with procurement governance, audit policies, and material master standards is vital. You will participate in workshops and collaborate with various teams, contributing reusable templates and AI-augmented best practices for MM configuration and testing.

A strong understanding of SAP MM, including P2P processes, purchasing document flows, vendor evaluation, and inventory management, is essential. Experience in configuring material master, vendor master, PO/PR processing, goods movements, and release strategies is required.

Familiarity with integrations across SD, FI, PP, and QM, as well as knowledge of IDocs, outputs, pricing procedures, and common MM troubleshooting patterns, is necessary.

This role demands hands-on experience with AI copilots, LLM-powered documentation tools, and AI-assisted testing accelerators. You should be capable of integrating pre-built AI capabilities into MM workflows for automation and insight generation, while understanding responsible AI usage and its limitations.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills in procurement and material management scenarios are crucial.
