Join our team as a Custom Software Engineer to design, code, and enhance SAP PP (Production Planning) solutions for discrete manufacturing. You will leverage modern frameworks and agile practices to build scalable, high-performing applications. This role focuses on optimizing production planning, shop floor execution, and material staging, with opportunities to integrate pre-built AI services.

We are seeking professionals who can utilize AI-assisted development tools and copilots to streamline requirement analysis, configuration, testing, and issue resolution. While AI capabilities will be employed, deep AI model engineering is not a requirement for this position.

Configure and support SAP PP processes including Material Requirement Planning (MRP), Production Orders, Routings, Work Centers, BOM Management, Capacity Planning, Scheduling, Backflushing, and Costing Integration. Utilize AI copilots to accelerate the creation of functional specifications, routing/BOM validation, test case generation, and documentation automation.

Support the full project lifecycle from requirements gathering through hypercare. Integrate SAP PP with MM, QM, SD, FI/CO, and shop floor systems using standard APIs and middleware. Employ AI copilots for automated summarization of requirements, analysis of MRP exceptions, validation of order execution, and faster defect isolation in configurations.

Integrate pre-built AI services into production workflows for predictive insights, intelligent classification of issues, and automated summarization of deviations. Leverage LLM assisted troubleshooting to reduce analysis time for MRP exceptions and order failures. Ensure compliance with governance, change controls, and data accuracy standards.

A strong understanding of discrete manufacturing processes is essential, including BOM/routing management, production order cycles, capacity planning, scheduling, and MRP. Experience with integrations across MM, QM, SD, and FI/CO is required, along with familiarity with order confirmations, settlements, and shop floor data capture.

Demonstrated ability to use AI copilots, automated documentation tools, and AI-assisted test accelerators is crucial. You should be comfortable embedding pre-built AI capabilities into production planning and execution, with an awareness of responsible AI usage. Possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills related to production variability and resource planning.

Ability to translate manufacturing requirements into scalable SAP PP configurations and strong communication and collaboration skills across technical and operational teams are necessary. A continuous learning mindset and comfort adopting AI-assisted workflows are highly valued. A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience is required, along with 15 years of full-time education.
